Arlington Gardens
London, 2025
Arlington is a new-build residence in West London, created in close collaboration with Michaelis Boyd, who led the architecture. Studio Tala Safavi shaped the interior architecture, resulting in a thoughtfully curated and cohesive living space. The project presented a series of structural challenges, including height restrictions, which ultimately informed the decision to incorporate a substantial basement excavation.
A sculptural staircase forms the architectural heart of the home, elegantly uniting all three floors. In the kitchen, arched Crittall doors lead to the study, where a rich dark-green palette offers a dramatic counterpoint to the otherwise neutral interiors. A bespoke shelving installation displays an edited assemblage of artworks, objects and books, bringing texture, personality and depth to the space.
The master suite occupies the entirety of the top floor, its floor level subtly lowered to navigate local height restrictions. Expansive in scale, the room is lined with bespoke wardrobes and encircled by windows on three sides, flooding the space with natural light throughout the day.
